Is Vietnam warm in September?

The weather in Vietnam in September is generally warm, especially in the southern and central regions. In these areas, temperatures can still be quite high due to the lingering effects of the summer season.

September marks the beginning of the autumn cold season in the country's north. Daytime temperatures can range from 22-30°C (72-86°F), while evenings and nights can be cooler, dropping to 20°C (68°F) or lower.

The weather in central Vietnam in September is warm and humid. Daytime temperatures usually range between 24-34°C (75-93°F). Temperatures can become more comfortable as the month progresses.

The weather in southern Vietnam in September remains quite warm and humid. Daytime temperatures can range from 28 to 31°C (82-88°F) or even higher. The humidity can also be quite high, making it feel warmer than it really is.

What to do in Vietnam in September

In September, several regions in Vietnam offer unique experiences and pleasant weather. Hanoi enjoys more comfortable weather this month. You can explore its historical sights, and lively markets and enjoy the city's rich cultural life.

September is perfect for exploring the rice paddies of the Sapa region. After the rainy season, the terraced rice paddies become lush and green and you can fully enjoy the local scenery.

The historic city of Hue is warm and less touristy. Explore the Imperial City and historical sites. Enjoy the beautiful beaches of Da Nang, explore the Marble Mountains and take advantage of the improving weather conditions for outdoor activities.

Although rain is still possible in September, the charming ancient city of Hoi An and lantern-lit streets are a beautiful sight. Ho Chi Minh City has high humidity and occasional rain, but you can still experience its vibrant street food, historic sites and bustling markets.
